Our Team
Saddia Mazhar is a trailblazing investigative journalist with an extensive portfolio in both national and international media outlets. Her reporting spans governance, human rights—particularly the rights of women and marginalized communities—and climate change. As a liberal feminist and the only woman in Pakistan actively practicing the Right to Information (RTI) law, Saddia uses Article 19/A to hold the government accountable, ensuring transparency and empowering citizens through their constitutional rights.
Saddia has earned numerous international fellowships, including the prestigious Asian Journalism Fellowship and the East-West Center’s Cross-Border Reporting Fellowship, which have significantly broadened her expertise in global reporting. Her work has taken her across borders, allowing her to report on diverse issues from different cultural and political landscapes. Saddia has trained journalists extensively across Pakistan, serving as a lead trainer on Gender Base Voilance (GBV) and RTI laws, equipping the next generation of reporters with essential investigative skills.
With a career built on breaking barriers in a male-dominated field, Saddia has not only reported groundbreaking stories but has also become a role model for women across Pakistan, particularly those from smaller cities. She encourages women to embrace digital skills and step into the field of entrepreneurial journalism, demonstrating how independent platforms can offer women the leadership roles that traditional media often denies them. Saddia’s commitment to human rights and gender equality has inspired many to follow in her footsteps, and her work continues to challenge and reshape the media landscape in Pakistan.
