Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has suspended Dr Shahid Masood’s television show, “Live with Dr Shahid Masood,” on GNN for two weeks.
The suspension was issued due to the journalist’s false news regarding relief assistance provided to Turkey.
PEMRA claimed that Masood made baseless comments that damaged diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Turkey.
The contents of the show were also cited in international media for propaganda against Pakistan. PEMRA issued a show cause notice to the channel on February 20 and gave them a chance for a personal hearing.
However, after considering the channel’s response, Dr Masood’s program has been banned for two weeks from March 10.
