PTI granted permission to hold rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 26

Lahore: The district administration of Lahore has granted conditional permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 26.

This permission was granted after PTI submitted a written undertaking that it would ensure the security of the entire enclosure, including the stage and women participants.

According to the agreement, PTI’s focal person will coordinate with members of the district administration to ensure that the rally is conducted smoothly without affecting the traffic.

The party has also agreed not to set up welcome camps along any route leading to the rally to prevent any inconvenience to ordinary citizens. Moreover, the brandishing of batons or carrying weapons will not be permitted.

The administration has cautioned PTI that it will be held responsible if any harm is inflicted on public property around Greater Iqbal Park.

Additionally, the party has been asked to ensure that the rally’s sound system follows the rules already established by law, and that no businesses will be affected. The act of wall chalking or forcing people to participate in the rally will be punishable by law.

The agreement further mandates that no statements will be made that might hurt the sentiments of any community. PTI has also been required to submit the full fee for occupying Greater Iqbal Park.

PTI plans to hold a power show as part of its election campaign in Punjab. The permission granted by the district administration comes with several conditions to ensure the safety of the public and the smooth functioning of the event.
